Lake CX178 Road Cycling Shoe

The Lake CX178 is a road shoe built around anatomical efficiency rather than a narrow race last. A redesigned toe box gives the forefoot room to splay naturally under load, cutting the compression that causes hot spots on long days, while a stiff nylon composite sole keeps power transfer sharp. The result is a shoe that suits high-mileage riders and racers alike — particularly anyone who has struggled to find a road shoe wide enough at the front.

Fit

Built on Lake's CX/TX Sport Comfort Last, which pairs a stable forefoot platform with a broader toe box for better alignment and fewer pressure points. The last is shaped first-toe-longer; if your second toe is the longer one, add roughly 7–10 mm to your measured foot length when choosing a size. Riders between sizes, or those who prefer extra room, should size up by half to a full size.

Available in Regular and Wide widths, sizes 36–50.

Outsole

Upper

Closure

A single BOA® Fit System L6 dial delivers fast, micro-adjustable tension across the midfoot, spreading pressure evenly and keeping weight down. Quick in, quick out, and secure through the whole pedal stroke.
